Rooting Out Corruption in Albany Governor-elect Andrew Cuomo should hand over the power to investigate public corruption in Albany to the new attorney general, Eric Schneiderman. The NYT wants Cuomo to give the attorney general powers to subpoena and investigate potential civil and criminal violations in government.  Cuomo wants to create a state ethics control board that is independent and has “robust enforcement powers” over both the Legislature and the governor’s offices.
