BOE BS Non Excuse for the RANGEL Miscount Attempted Fix or Just Incompetence?
BOE Flack BS to the NYT  In the 13th Congressional District, the Police Department recorded zeros, rather than the actual vote totals, in 79 of the district’s 506 precincts. A Board of Elections spokeswoman, Valerie Vazquez, said that this could have been because poll workers failed to properly complete the return of canvas sheets or because of errors by the Police Department. Those votes are now part of the unofficial count, though Ms. Vazquez said the board was analyzing the sheets to see what had happened. Why was only 84% of the vote counted that night when the the campaigns were 99% counted? What reason did the NYPD give?  Why are NYPD still involved in voter counting?  IT THE ZEROS HAPPEN IN NO OTHER DISTRICT.  All the votes are counted and Rangel has 802 vote lead with more than 2000 paper ballots to count. * Charlie Rangel Says He’s ‘Completely Baffled’ by Disputed Vote Count in His Congressional Race(NYO)

Feds investigate switch by Board of Elections ... - New York Post
From the Village Voice (Barrett, 11/10/2010)
"Sheinkopf copped a memo, too, obtaining it from an aide to the top Senate staffer, Angelo Aponte, who Sheinkopf personally installed in the key spot. He had the power to do that because the skillful Sheinkopf doubles as a lobbyist and as a political consultant, and had advised Senate Democrats in the elections that led to the 2008 majority, helping to make Malcolm Smith majority leader. Sheinkopf collected $356,741 in consulting fees from the Senate Democratic Campaign Committee at the same time that he was representing AEG and its precursor with Senate Democrats. Having worked for Bill Thompson and Mike Bloomberg most recently, Sheinkopf makes kings so he can then make deals with the kings he’s made."
